Cross Sectioning Equipment & Supplies
Our original classic tool designs previously
sold by Technology Associates, are still fully supported. Accelerated
Analysis innovations has introduced updated and completely new product
lines.

PF101 Polishing Fixture
The basic non-encapsulated cross sectioning
technique described on the web site was developed around this fixture.
The weight of this fixture is correct, eliminating the need and
variability associated with manually adding pressure to the sample.
Sample mounts are 12.5 mm diameter and compatible with Hitachi,
JEOL, and LEO Scanning Electron Microscopes. PF101 includes (1)
package of 10 Stainless Steel Sample mounts. ( SMSS )

Steel Sample Mounts
These sample mounts are 12.5 mm diameter
cylinders machined to have two parallel flat sides. One side is
for mounting a semiconductor piece to be cross-sectioned at 90 degrees.
A smaller flat serves as a base while the sample is mounted with
melted wax. Stainless material is resistant to damage by typical
delineation etches used to reveal semiconductor structures.
SMA Package of 10 Aluminum
Sample Mounts
These sample mounts are identical to SMSS
except material is aluminum rather than stainless. Aluminum sample
mounts are economical and functionally equivalent. Aluminum sample
mounts are less resistant to attack by delineation etches.
AA17 Stainless Steel Sample

AA17 stainless steel sample mounts are a
drop in replacement for Technology Associates P/N 1017. These sample
mounts are more stable, but guaranteed compatible with Technology
Associates polishing and SEM fixtures.
AA13 Teflon Block(s) (pkg of 2)
AA13 Teflon blocks are drop in replacements for Technology Associates
P/N 1013. These Teflon blocks are guaranteed to fit perfectly in
Technology Associates polishing fixture P/N 5016.
BKWX Black Mounting Wax
Two 20 gram sticks. Apply to sample mount heated to 100 - 120°
C. This mounting wax has excellent vacuum characteristics and is
more chemically stable than common clear mounting wax. Soluble in
acetone.
ITFE Fixture for Hitachi
FE SEMs
Holds sample mount ( SMSS , SMA ) in Hitachi Field Emission SEMs.
(S-4500,...) Base of fixture is T rail, steel insert for loading
rod.

ROTTO PVC Platen, 8 inch
(200mm) for SiC Paper
This platen has a center recess to receive plain back (non adhesive)
SiC paper. A surrounding ring holds edges flat. Unique design makes
changing paper quick and easy.
DEMLA Magnetic Surface Platen, 8 inch (200mm)
Designed for polishing media manufactured with a metallic base,
this versatile platen can be used with SiC paper and Mylar films
as well as all metal backed cloths. See discussion of MD-Fuga discs.

MUGTO Metal Discs, Adhesive
Surface, 8 inch (200mm) (MD-Fuga)
Package includes five discs. These discs provide the opportunity
to adapt plain back media to the magnetic system. They have a tacky
adhesive surface to hold SiC, Mylar, or other polishing media. Worn
media can be removed and replaced up to 50 times.

AAGlssP Smooth Plate Glass
Disc, 8 inch (200mm)
Plate glass provides an ideal hard base for Mylar films. Plain back
Mylar films cling to glass wet with water. Simply smooth water puddles
to the edge. Glass can be permanently attached to any 8 inch platen
with double back tape. This is a good way to save a damaged metal
platen for use with Mylar films. Glass can be permanently attached
to an MD-Fuga disc. Use metal backed disc with Mylar on magnetic
platen. The same platen can then be used with metal backed polishing
cloths.
